3-Month-Old Infant Injured By Falling Pole At The University of Phoenix Stadium
GLENDALE, ARIZONA (October 5, 2017) – A three month old infant was injured by a falling pole in the kids areas at Phoenix Stadium before parents could see Arizona Cardinals versus the San Francisco 49ers game.
Authorities have been able to identify the infant that was injured as Julian Trujillo. Richard Trujillo said that he was walking when a pole came down and hit Julian Trujillo on the side of the head.
The infants parents Richard Trujillo and Monique Trujillo said that there was no urgency on the part of game officials to help them.
It took nearly an hour before an ambulance arrived and Julian Trujillo was taken to the hospital following the accident. Richard Trujillo and Monique Trujillo spent 5 hours in the emergency room while their infant was being treated.
Richard Trujillo says that the hospital staff told them that Julian Trujillo may have suffered a concussion after the accident.
The affects of a concussion on a young infant can take years to fully understand. Medical costs for taking care of a head injury can be far greater than originally anticipated.
Our staff at the Avrek Law Firm were deeply concerned to learn about the falling pole that injured Julian Trujillo. It’s unfortunate that the Stadium has shown so little concern for this injured newborn. It’s even more concerning that they are trying to avoid responsibility for an accident that happened on their own premises.
The NFL needs to take responsibility for what happened and help make this infant and family whole again. Unfortunately, large companies all too often refuse to help accident victims unless they are faced with litigation. Even when they say they’re going to help, they may only offer a small amount that doesn’t even fully cover medical expenses.
